Caesars isn't planning on charging locals with valid ID.

MGM will start charging locals at the end of this month right before New Years.

Here's the link on the Wynn/Encore parking situation. They're going to start charging for valet but not for self parking. Self parking will remain free for now.

That's why Rome fell. They started charging to park your chariot. We're looking at the end of Las Vegas as we know it. BTW: Wynn and Encore announced they are going to charge for Ballet Parking too.

Except back then there wasn't an endless influx of millennials that spend $20 on a burger and drop $1000 on a drink at a pretentious club

As long as the country's economy is chugging along, Las Vegas's Casinos will always reap the benefits

I think that some issues may happen at the Fashion Show mall to where some may park to visit nearby resorts without paying. I see even the mall to institute a pay or validation system in the future.

As far as going to the resorts as a local? No thanks! No thanks to the smoke, the noise, and all the rest. I don't gamble myself, only drink at home and for shows, BROADWAY is only a six hour flight to NYC.

I've been walking a ferret on the Strip for years now, once or twice a month, after 4am (you can only walk your pets on the Strip now between 4am-noon) and he likes vegetation, and some grass to roll around in, and I noticed on my last walk, between TI and Mirage, they took up all the grass and put in Astroturf.

Last week, we took a walk around Bellagio, and they've take up their grass as well, with desert landscaping.

And they're not doing this to conserve water, they're doing to save $$, right into the hands of their overpaid executives!

As a local they could care less about me, if I spend any money on the Strip, they can survive well without it!

I did my yearly outing to a casino, Longhorn, on Boulder, Thanksgiving nite, gambled 20 minutes, lost $2, and spent $2 on 2 one dollar beers. I can't think of anything more boring than playing slot machines!

Given the thanklessness of locals stimulating the casino industry, I save every penny and fly off to L.A. or San Francisco, which I'll be doing in a couple weeks, where there'll be more thankfulness!

Truth be told, a lot of the money is going to pay down the enormous debt loads they took on during the boom in the 0's. They're starting to dig their way out of that, but they still have a substantial hole to fill.

Millennials are not spending $1000 at clubs, sorry. Have you been to any of these mega-clubs recently?

yeah, $35 a night and after tax, it's almost $40 a night for it.

I'm waiting for the day to arrive when the resort fee will be more than the room rate.

There was an article in The Economist magazine, which I subscribe to, about the Graying of the Gambling Generation, and not being replaced by Milennials. The question is, how do you get the Milennials to gamble? One possibility, albeit risky, is to spend money creating machines solely for Milennials, but the question remains, is, would they use them?

On these recent articles about more airlines serving China and bringing the Chinese over here, I believe I read that the average Chinese visitor spend something like $7-8k per trip, and compare that to the domestic tourists, and they love to shop. That's a misconception, about the love of shopping, as they're obligated to buy gifts for their bosses, back home, and relatives and God knows who else!

What's quite high up on their lists for what they wish to see in this country, is eco-like adventures, like our National Parks.
