I realize it was far North of Vegas, just wondering.

A 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck Nevada on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The quake, centered 15 miles southeast of Wells, Nevada, struck at 7:16 a.m. PST, with a shallow epicenter of 3.7 miles.

That was the shot-down wayward satellite hitting ground.

I heard that it was at 6:16 PST.

I popped awake and looked at my watch, it was around 6:15 so that was what probably woke me up.

It was centered in Wells, NV which is much closer to Salt Lake City than Las Vegas so I'm wondering how many felt it in SLC. Although, the news reports I'm hearing is that it was felt as far away as southern California and all along eastern Nevada.

update from the Review Journal @ 8:34 PST (broken link)

Default Felt Earthquake in Salt Lake

I live 30 minutes southwest of Salt Lake. I felt a slight rumble, much like an airplane going over my house too low (I live under the flight path to Salt Lake International). According to the news, no fatalities, which is good news.

I'm from CA and visiting up in Blaine County ID and felt my bed shaking this a.m.
I was half asleep and didn't know if I was dreaming or my dog was under my bed causing the movement. A Californian in Idaho gets rocked by a 6.0 coming out of Nevada!
