You're fine. It blew over. And trust me on this one, lack of sunshine was never a problem. It's been over 110 degrees every day for weeks.

The dust we have right now is something else. Back to not being able to see the mountains.

Yup. The weather has been insane. I cranked up the BBQ last night to cook my dad a steak, and promptly got pelted with rain. It lasted only about five minutes.

If we have to put up with this dust, I hope we get cooler temps out of it. It's 9:15 AM and only 93 degrees, so there is hope.

Reinforced concrete we're talking here! Not cinder block construction without re-bar!

After the 1906 Earthquake in San Francisco, most of the damage due to fires from wooden structures, the plan, never attained, after the quake, was that every future structure be built of concrete.

I guess next time there is a fire somewhere in Nevada, the people in Utah can talk about collectively suing too.

You guys gonna sue Arizona the next time a thunderstorm there kicks up dust and sends it over the Las Vegas Valley?

A bit ridiculous, isn't it?

I think the post was meant somewhat sarcastically. Though the smoke has been nasty, nasty this around. It's bad when you can't see a single mountain around here. Or the Luxor light. The Luxor light is visible from space.

But it does make the sunsets even more spectacular. We were driving west right at sunset last night. Had some great pinks and oranges in the band of smoke between the peaks.
