I feel like they're hogging it all this year.

If Vegas had the rain the South is having now, would that end our drought?

Wouldn't matter. 25 inches of rain in two days like Louisiana had and Las Vegas valley would be gone. Those of us up in the hills would be all that was left.

How much rain is the flood control system designed to take? How many years worth of normal rain in Vegas would 25" represent?

Given the elevation change in the valley, the water wouldn't hang around. Of course, it would build up a hell of a head of steam o the way down to the lake.

No. It would wash us away.

Our drought has to do with the snowpack on the Colorado Mountains. That's what fills Lake Mead.

California could use some rain, though. Especially where the fires are.

We average about 4.25 inches per year here so about 6 years worth = about 24"

Big change from the 35 or so we would get back in MN.

I think if we got 24" here in a couple days you folks in the hills would end up in the valley ....

Yay! Thank you for sending some rain my way! We're having thunder and lighting and rain showers right now in the Northwest. I'm watching the show through my bedroom window while under the covers. Lovin' it!

I'm in the garage with door open watching the show!

It's moving your way, northeastern Vegas.
