If I could get away with living in one of those, here, I could pay cash for a house in a couple years. But noooo, we have to have "safety" and "running water" and "electricity"

I'd have to go a little more Mad Max with it, maybe add some chains and skulls and spikes and whatnot. Might be a little tacky in most Vegas neighborhoods, at least until after the apocalypse.

I just saw this. These look pretty nice and modern. They seem pretty cheap and have great insulation: Container-based homes designed to meet a multitude of needs

Doesn't seem all that cheap to me.

Totally Awesome picture of the Residential Shipping Container Home!!

Anything is possible with Shipping Containers. I've seen offices built with them!!

In Arizona, a company built an Apartment Complex out of them...INCREDIBLE CONCEPT! Frankly, I think it's the best way to go for people who can't afford a $350,000 or more home on their current credit. There are a lot of people out there who don't have AAA+ Credit but do have some money saved. I think buying a lot and building a Shipping Container Home on that land is indeed a solution to affordable homes for people who are less fortunate.

I myself, am seriously considering it. I have already done considerable research and found that it costs considerably less to build a Shipping Container Home than it is to try and "Qualify" to buy a $350,000 home!!

If you have $35,000 to $60,000 saved, you can own a piece of property and build a Shipping Container Home on it!

Have A Very Blessed Day!

@SCVisionary let's see a picture of what you think a $35000-$60000 container home looks like. It is going to be a shack at best if that includes land and utility hookups.

I think there is a multi-million dollar one in the Ridges. At least it looks like that. Been added on to a few times over the years.

And yes the Ridges HAD a certain style of homes you could build there but like most high end HOA's rules are made to be broken. Queensridge did the same thing, a few times.
