Hey there guys & gals.

So the situation is basically explained in the subject line. I am moving in a week to live in Vegas temporarily for a few months and want to get a location checked out for safety as I will be catching the bus.

West Gowan & Rancho is the closest intersection.

Please let me know if you have any direct experience with friends or family or work in that immediate neighborhood, and thank you for any and all responses.

I'd guess that's probably in the bottom 25% of safest areas in the valley.

Anyone else? I'm not looking to be linked to statistical maps but rather would like some anecdotal savvy from any board members with personal experience in that immediate area of town.

Thanks again.

I think I saw a hooker on that intersection once.

Isn't the more important question whether it is a good area for womanizing?

Probably not too bad. Anywhere further south on Rancho would not be very safe, but Gowan is sort of a cross over(?) point, if that makes sense. There are pockets of relatively nice homes in that area, but you'd be better off further west though.

You should find a better location.

You probably want to avoid just about any intersection that includes Rancho or Boulder.
