Hey there. We're possibly relocating to Nevada from South Florida and have pretty much settled on Henderson, but are still looking for info on a few neighborhoods from people who live there. Specifically Green Valley North, Green Valley South, Green Valley Ranch and Gibson Springs.

We're mainly interested in those neighborhoods because they seem to be right smack in the middle of Henderson with Lake Las Vegas 25-ish min away, Sloan Canyon 25-ish min away, and then The Strip 25-ish min away.

Right now we have a mall, Trader Joes, multiple grocery stores (some specialty), Target, Home Depot, etc. within about a 3 block radius. I'd reallllly love to find someplace with a similar set-up. Parks are also important as I stay home with our twins for now.

We have 2.5 year old twins and a 6 year old kindergartner. I'm in the process of researching schools, but any first-hand experience is welcome. Likewise pediatricians, dentists, etc. etc.

Thank you!

The further south you go in Henderson the better you will like the area for your family.

Green Valley Ranch is the best of those. It's the only area of the 3 that has parks that aren't adjacent to a school (Discovery, Paseo Vista, Friendship and Paseo Verde), in addition to parks adjacent to schools (Dos Escuelas) the best schools of the area (Vandenberg and Twitchell), and Target/HD/Trader Joe's/grocery all a few min away on Eastern Avenue.

Green Valley South has Mountain View Park adjacent to Bartlett Elementary, and has grocery nearby, but is a further drive to stores. Traffic here is better than Green Valley South.

Green Valley North has a couple parks adjacent to elementary schools (Fox Ridge and Silver Springs), the schools aren't bad but not as good as their southern counterparts, homes are more dated than ones further south. It is the furthest from the stores you desire without grocery nearby. This area has more convenience to Sunset Station and the stores up there, but is further from the 215.

Gibson Springs is too inconvenient and boring for me. There's one park adjacent to the elementary school which is the worst in comparison to the three above. This area does not go to Coronado HS, Miller MS, or Greenspun MS, is the furthest drive to a grocery store and the highway.

Excellent info, thank you!
