HI, Can someone give me a review on the Chicago Brewing Company on Fort Apache in the Sumerlin area? I have a brother coming into town and he loves those "special" beers of a Brewery. Is this a nice place to go for that and maybe decent food? Also is happy hour there 3pm to 6Pm? ty so much for anyone review of this place

I've been a couple of times. Not bad. Upstairs is smoky, but there is no smoking downstairs. Decent beers. That being said, if you want a much larger selection of both local and national craft beers, I would recommend Rebel Republic on Sahara. Their food is VERY good as well. 52 craft beers on tap, and they are easy going with the samples.

When I was drinking, my "go-to" for excellent locally-brewed craft beer was always Barley's on Sunset between Mt. Vista and Green Valley Parkway. They have 4 crafts brewed onsite, and the food is also pretty good. I recommend the pizza, but get there by 9:00p, as they shut down the pizza oven then. Happy hour will get you $2 craft beer, although even their regular price of $5 for 32 oz. is phenomenal. I always had my growlers refilled there. $5 for a half gallon. They have a pilsner (Blue Diamond), a red lager (Red Rock), a stout (Black Mountain), and a Hefeweizen (Boulder Gold). Depending on the time of year, they usually will have a 5th beer as well, sometimes a session IPA, sometimes a honey wheat. You never know.

Their cafe is non-smoking, but the bar and dining area next to the bar allow smoking, as it's a slot casino.

My wife and I go to Chicago at least once a week, sometimes more if friends are in town or we have nothing in the fridge.

We stumbled upon it one day for Lunch when we were house hunting and really liked it. From there we actually found we liked the area, and from there ended up purchasing a house in The Lakes. Chicago reminds us of a place we frequented with friends when we lived back East.

We usually eat on the patio but if it's very cold we sit inside the dining room. They also have a bar area as well as a pretty popular cigar lounge upstairs. Brick walls inside the dining room, the massive beer tanks and brewing operation are on display as you walk in.

They have their own Brewery inside and do make their own craft beers. The staff turnover is quite low and they are all familiar with all the beers they offer. We now know all the staff. Very friendly bunch.

Food is good. It's one of the few places I order all over the menu. Their specials are usually quite good as well. Never had a bad meal there.

Fairly quiet atmosphere. You can have a conversation over dinner. They have a few TV's in the dining/patio area with the hottest game on but, no blaring TV's or gaming machines in your face. You may like this (we do) or, you may want something with a bit more "action" going on.

Feel free to ask if you have any question.

Honestly there are way better breweries in Vegas than Chicago. Been there twice and didnt like it. Chicago style pizza was gross. Burger was okay. And the beer was good, but nothing to write home about.

Just my two personal experiences.

There is one close by that just opened called Old School Brewery. Couple of friends said it was really good. Also, The Pint is nearby as well that just opened. Dont have feedback on that one.

There is a row of breweries in Henderson that gets rave reviews, although Ive never ventured all the way down there. Crafthaus.

Banger Brewing downtown is really good, but didnt have a food menu last time I went.

Sin City Brewing Company

Big Dogs Brewery(local favorite)

Gordon Biersch Brewery is pretty good. Their food is awesome

Count me with the Banger crowd.

Who cares if they don't have food? Bring some with. Nobody there cares if you do. They encourage it. Bring a bunch of tacos from El Gordo. Cook turkey dinner and eat it there. They truly don't care. They just want to sell beer.

Beats dealing with the smoke-choked crap offered by most of the brewpubs.

Chicago Brewing Co is NOT in Summerlin, if you want to attach a neighborhood to it, then Peccole Ranch would be more suitable but NOT Summerlin.
