Hi! I am going to be in the area of M resort and am looking for large, modern grocery stores nearby. I will have a car and would like to fix some meals while visiting friends. Let me know, what are in the vicinity, and how the shopping is! Thanks in advance!

It's one thing if you're from a different region and aren't familiar with the local chains. Tell us where you're from, and what grocery chains you're familar with, and we can tell you what are the equivalent to Vons, Smiths, Albertsons, and Haagen. Those are the large grocery stores, you can skip Fresh & Easy and Green Valley Grocer.

OTOH, if you didn't even look on a map to see what was nearby, you deserve the response you received.

Thank you. I did look on a map, but I know that stores are subjective. If you google where I live, there is a food lion close, which is a national chain, however, this one is really small, dirty and produce is not the best., hence why I was asking the question. in our area, we don't have too much competition, one real major chain, Giant food, which is where most peeps shop. We also have wegmans, but that is an hour drive.

Haggen is like Wegmans, and maybe is in their home state of WA, but the ones here feel like lousy imitations, and have few fans in the area. They are a new entry to Las Vegas, having taken over some of the Vons stores after Albertsons acquired Safeway (Vons was part of Safeway, and the stores are pretty much indistinguishable).

Smiths is a Kroger chain, so if you are familiar with any other supermarket under the Kroger banner it will probably look familiar.

Of the options available to you, I'd say Vons > Smiths > Albertsons, and I'm unimpressed with the Las Vegas area Haggen stores (highest prices of all, but no better than a Smiths, and maybe even worse). The are all large full-service supermarkets, with floral, deli, pharmacy, bakery, etc.
