Normally a car that runs rich will contribute to the catalytic converter to fail. I have a few work trucks that have more than 200,000 miles and I do not always use "top tier fuel" when I fill up. Proper maint is always my key to having a car or truck last on the road.

Sure. There's a bunch of things. Some even recommend against fuel additives that you pour into your tank claiming that they don't burn cleanly and deposit in your exhaust system. It's certainly no guarantee that dirt cheap no name fuel will wreck your car. I'm not a mechanic. Rather just relaying what I've been told.

I didn't realize that gas was that much in Vegas.... Heck I paid $3.29 yesterday here is So Cal.....Thought you guys were MUCH cheaper than us...

And to the uninformed..Just because you are at a Shell station doesn't mean the gas is Shell or at least not ALL of the gas is Shell..Or for any other station for that matter.... Companies buy from any refinery they have to when their own refinery runs out or shuts down for a reason.... So you conceivably have Shell, Texaco, Valero, Mobil, etc gas in your car at any given time...

9260 S Eastern Ave & E Serene Ave

I went here 3 weeks ago and it was $3.29. Anyone know of any current good gas deals??

Costco at $2.94 today, but you have to be a member. Otherwise just check the gasbuddy website for current prices or one of the android or iPhone apps that do the same thing.

What is interesting is the price of oil was MUCH higher when I started this thread than it is now yet gas has gone up. Can anyone tell me why gas was $1.69 a gallon in 2009 and is now $3.22 while oil is roughly the same price? Yes I do realize they did raise the gas tax not too long ago. Even so, it was small and in no way accounts for a $1.50 increase. Thank God I now have or company car or else I would be very upset!

Because refineries have doubled their profit per gallon since January this year. Relevant article: California oil refineries' gross profits nearly double in 2015 - LA Times

Nevada's fault for relying on California and their stupid gas formula. Gasoline pipelines should be coming from Arizona and Utah, not San Bernadino.
