My husband and I are considering moving out there when I finish school; what is the job market like for new grad (ASN) nurses in Vegas? Will hospitals accept an ASN or will I have to earn my BSN before I can apply at a hospital? I will have my ASN and it will take me one more year of school to get my BSN. I can take the BSN classes online, so if I can find a job in Vegas as an ASN while I finish school, that would be ideal. I'm told that the job market where I live now for new grads is very tough.

Our oldest daughter is getting ready to start her BSN. She asked and looked around and not many places are looking for new ASN grads, if you had experience it would be a different story. My wife has friends in the nursing field around town and that is who we asked when she showed interest in the field. My wife is medical as well

I have a couple friends who graduated as ASN nurses within the last five years. One got hired on directly into a hospital, but she had a connection. The other two spent six months to a year doing low paid home health care before they were able to get hired on at a hospital.

I have an ASN and I'm in upper management where I work, so LV isn't without opportunities.
