Cracker Barrel. I remember watching an episode of Donahue about it, back in the day. It was incredibly shocking - they weren't even pretending that they hadn't fired employees because they were gay. I always remember the CEO saying "Cracker Barrel is a family company." And then a gay waiter they fired saying, "But I'm part of a family too!" I remember it really changing my mind on these kinds of issues. They also admitted that they would seat blacks and whites separately!

And the current company does not reflect this (google crack barrel and the duck dynasty controversy...which side did this Company come down on?). But don't eat there. Leaves less of a line for me.

I have tried a bunch of them since leaving that town. None of them have been close. The one here is outright disgusting.

The Wafflehouse in Wilson NC was clean, and had some excellent employees. They had a relief cook on Monday, I avoided eating there on Monday because he sucked. Everyone else was great.

Chik-Fil-A is one of those occasional things. Sometimes you just want to eat chicken nuggets, but don't hate yourself enough to stick McDonalds or Wendy's into your mouth.

The Church's here is not very good, but it's the only one I've had.
There is chain here called Checkers? Never heard of them.

There's one on at the Lamb/DI intersection of Boulder Highway. When I need to buy food for tradesmen working on rental properties, it's either Roberto's or Checkers.

The reason I buy Checkers is because when I lived in Florida and we lost power for a month and a half following a hurricane, Checkers gave away free food every day until they ran out of food. Contrast that to some of the supermarkets which allowed food to rot in bins in order to collect insurance on their lost inventory.

Thank goodness Cracker Barrel is coming, I love shopping for knick-knacks before eating. But seriously, how can people knock Cracker Barrel especially if you supported Golden Corral which is doing well (huh? SMH).

I was told years ago by a waitress in the Kingman Cracker Barrel that the company owned land in Henderson where they were going to build a restaurant. That never came to fruition for some reason.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the land was E of the 95...
