I plan to go since I am a member.

I'm expecting secret service at massive scale considering it's near North Las Vegas. LOL

He's not a sitting president, so they won't go huge.

I dunno about that. When he was candidate Clinton and spoke at UNLV, it was the only time I've had a sniper rifle pointed at my head. The quad was full of secret service .

Was this before or after he was officially nominated? There's a big difference. A candidate gets nothing prior to a nomination to essentially the same deal as the sitting president after the nomination. Further, if the challenging candidate loses the election, he immediately loses all SS protection.

I did a security detail for Air Force One when it landed in Okinawa Japan while Clinton was in office(on his way out though). Guarded that plane for damn near 10 hours with about 100 other people. Very boring detail. While the president and his staff/crew were leaving towards the plane. He walked by me, we locked eyes, and we gave each other a head nod.

Of course when it comes time to tell my grand kids this story, it will be three times as long with a lot more action involved.

I've read it comes down to like $400K/hour every time the president goes abroad.

I'm trying to think back. I know he was just a candidate back then, but I'm pretty sure he was the official democratic nominee. Dang it, that guy was my last chance to get a ride on Air Force One

They didn't, but when I was shaking hands with him & Mrs. Clinton, the sharpshooters had their weapons pointed at us.
