Same here. I live right across the street and find it convenient to be able to walk a few hundred feet to grab a bite to eat. I thought it actually looked better than I thought it would in the center - where there are actually streets. The shopping mall portion with the white sun shades doesn't really blend well...kind of weird. I did like the restaurant area with the park and water feauture though. There is definitely a lot more traffic on Sahara now...

Love this forum. I knew before I clicked it would be a bunch of folks complaining. Lets criticize everything!

Went to the opening last night. It was pretty cool. The middle portion feels downtownish but as it expands it feels more like a mall. But it is mostly a mall. Its super nice.

It added a bunch of jobs and also serves a purpose to many that live in the Summerlin area. I am glad its here even though traffic is worse, I can deal with that.

It looks like a nice mall, and I couldn't believe how fast it seemed to spring up once they resumed construction. It's not at all like I thought it was going to look. Haven't been there yet, but we will go soon. I only wish they'd call it something else. It isn't a "downtown", it's a mall. Although I guess you could call every downtown "malls". But we spend too much time already explaining to people that Summerlin is not a city, it's a master planned community within a city, and it spreads outside the city limits into the county. Calling it "downtown" just adds to the confusion.

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln reported that she enjoyed the play, but missed the ending.

It is a shopping center but my loyalty is still with Boca Park, Tivoli Village, Village Square, Sahara Center and Town Square. My friend likes the idea that he does not have to go to Macy's at the Fashion Show Mall. Yes, it is not Downtown but rather a shopping center and once again Summerlin developers ignored we have an ongoing drought!

Manifest Destiny is over and has been that way for awhile. Except for casino big shots who ended up in China. Just mow down our beautiful countryside and call it good. Great. Like I said before, anything for a buck, sell out to a developer, and sod the consequences. What is wrong with looking ahead a little and preserving our countryside for a few more years so we will really have a desirable destination in years to come? This comment will not appeal to the "get it fast and get it cheap" crowd but the moon will be the next stop unless the casinos are already there. And I am not from California. Think about it, ok? Nothing overwhelming about this.

When this project was stalled it was an ugly eyesore to look at the steel frame of a building and just mounds of dirt with a large fence around it. I had to drive by this every day because i would always take Pavilion Center. Looks much better now.!

Give me, and everyone, else a break. Outside of the Vegas and Reno metro area, NV is a vast empty desert. If you don't what to be in a built up urban/suburban area, move a half hour out of the valley.
