Funny. I normally associate bermuda, or at least hybrid bermuda, with affluence. Hybrid bermuda needs to be cut at least two times per week in the summer, and has to be cut with a reel mower for that "putting green" look, which you can't achieve with a rotary mower. I figured that's why most of the lawns I saw were fescue - the homeowners didn't want to pay the higher cost to maintain hybrid bermuda. In fact, the only hybrid bermuda lawn I've ever seen in the valley was in front of a $3M+ house in Anthem CC.

Well you can visit my backyard - I have close to a tenth of an acre. And all the remaining fairways in Sun City. They chopped them all up but the remains are all pretty much Bermuda.

And you are correct if you want that golf course green look. Mine is much softer than that. Not nearly as precise. And in a few places fescue has invaded adding a little raggedness.

Actually at almost perfection at this instant. The heat popped it all up and the water was right so it is all green and even and was cut yesterday.

I will take a picture I think. Maybe of the new bed as well.

I call them hero's! Those that maintain a yard with grass in this city!

If you don't "waste" the water, that will only allow any number of more unnecessary homes in the valley, and how many thousands of vacant houses do we have already!!!

Bermuda grass is tough! Brown in the winter, green in the summer if you water it! And it spreads very nicely without laying additional sod!

Thank you. I have a beautiful lawn, front and back and would never consider hot nasty desert last landscape.

Before I get flamed, the house came with a lawn when we bought and many of the homes in our neighborhood still have lawns.
To me, desert landscaping makes a neighborhood look bad and the biggest thing that sold me on our area, was the fact that it was nice and green.
