Cept that ol' securtiy guard.
I once stayed at a holiday inn once. My vision didn't come from one instance. There are more considerations but of course there's no need to go into them here. It's none of my business. You say you have been married for 16 years would you say the commitment level is the same for married couples and boyfriend and girlfriend relationship? Not engaged but boyfriend and girlfriend. There's nothing new under the sun.

Hard to say if things are the same commitment wise as it depends on the circumstances which the OP did not state because they're either unimportant, irrelevant or just plain nunna our business. This is why assumptions can be a horrible thing. My wife moved all the way from Germany for me when she was 19. She took a risk, it's what young people do. Some prevail, some don't, some learn, some won't.

I kinda skimmed this...I think I might be able to answer your question. I was a Costco employee at the Midwest Office store in Oak Brook, IL for 8 years. I started when I was 20 and worked all the store in different positions. My mom opened the store in 2000...
I resigned and moved to Nevada last August to take a teaching position with CCSD and was trying to get my boyfriend into the Henderson store. I was also trying to transfer into the pharmacy or front end as seasonal or part time weekends. Costco is a great company and didn't want to lose my years of service. We had no luck. You might have better luck as a new part-timer but that is only if they are accepting transfers which they haven't done that I know of. They have a lot of staff that transfered from other stores when the building opened. I shop there and most of the employees have been with the company for 10 plus years. If you absolutely need to move here, it will most likely be without the Costco job. I don't want to discourage you but that's the honest truth.
They do hire seasonal workers...like all Costcos but they lay off most if not all of them at the end of summer.

My store is just over 600 square feet. I've been promoted a couple times, offered a transfer for multiple stores in Dallas and Vancouver Canada. Love the company I work for... When stores were closing due to the economy, we were expanding... Almost 200 stores now... If you've been in a casino here, it's more than likely you've been in one of the stores. And yes... We are hiring...

That sucks that you had this experience. I worked for Costco for 8 years in Chicago and I feel like I left my family when I left. I made great money, supported myself through school, and met most of my best friends on the job. Even when I had a personal illness, my managers were there to help me. I love the company but I can see how it would have been different with a horrible manager.

Las Vegas is a very unforgiving city. If a person gets themself in a situation they will find out the city is surrounded by mountains. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. I once talked to a hotel security guard who told me a casino laid off over 100 people. They found out when they showed up for work. Where we're they going to go? The security guard mentioned one lady bought a house with her boy friend with her name on the mortgage with the assumption of both incomes paying for it. So compare the level of responsibility and commitment between a boyfriend and a husband in that situation.

Just a consideration when looking at the whole package. As for the transfer question for the OP, the best place to get that answer is from the company. Just as a side note at one time Wal Mart did allow store transfers I think after a year and no write ups. Yea I know not asking about Wally.
Eww...please don't mention Costco and Walmart in the same thread. I made of about 50k as a 25 year old with great benefits ater working at Costco for 6 years. It only makes sense that there are thousands of applicants for Costco. Walmart can't compare!
