Economy aside...what do you consider to be the most significant improvement made to the Valley in the past 4-5 years?

Container Park. Tony Hsieh is a big boost t to the LV area. His Vegas Tech Fund has spawn a multitude of startups. It pales in comparision to casino development, but it draws high tech talent from all over the US.

1) The Linq -- The High Roller wheel is going to be the top attraction in Las Vegas for at least a decade. Also, many nice venues without the usual Strip Screwage factor. (People complain that it's overpriced. But have they had a drink at the Bellagio lately?)

2) The O'Callahan/Tillman Bridge

I would also say "renovation of the old downtown hotels" -- Fitzgerald's, Lady Luck, etc. But I hear that these renovated hotels are universally tanking.

Fitzgerald's became the "D" and has been very successful since doing so. El Cortez is really something to see as well (and is also now a financial success).

You're probably working tonight but, if you're not, I'll be on FSE and we can check them out together.

Bill

the revitalization of the downtown areas including the arts district... also the fact that switch is leading the high tech entrance to the valley.

I heard "The D" is not doing well at all. Same with Grand and the Plaza. That's the word at the resort where I work, at least. But they've been wrong before.
