We tip slot attendants for hand payouts of $1000+.. normally $20. I tipped the dealer $200 when I hit the progressive on an UTH table. I usually play for the dealer when I get drink change, normally a buck on the bet and a buck on the side bet (if I'm playing a game other than BJ where I am playing the side bet). I always tip $2 to the waitress no matter what I'm drinking. I've found that the extra buck buys me better service. Yesterday I was drinking coffee and she brought it in a mug instead of the styrofoam. That little attention to detail is worth a buck to me.

20% on the full amount (before any discount). Hardly ever less.

A method that I learned from a friend that I use for tipping the dealer saves me money but pays off well for the dealer if I go on a winning streak. Assuming you're playing blackjack without a side bet, most people will play a bet for the dealer as their tip. This bet is usually placed in front of your bet and if you win, it is paid off and the dealer collects both the tip and winnings and if you want to play a tip again for the dealer again you have to put up more money. My friend puts the dealer's tip on top of his bet so when he wins he gives the dealer his winnings but leaves the original dealer bet on top of his own that way on the next hand he has not put up any more of his own money and the dealer still has a chance to get a tip on the next hand. If the player goes on a hot streak the dealer can really make out on tips and the player has only put up one tip.

The exact casino escapes me, but one of them doesn't allow direct bets for the dealer. You have to put the bet on top.. I didn't think about doing it the way you pointed out, but makes sense!

Specifically...

I tip $5 each time a cocktail waitress brings me a drink.
$5 to waitress each time I order take out.
$2 each time I win a bet, as high as $10 if I win $1000.
$5 bet for dealer each 1/2 hour if I'm winning. But 0 if the dealer doesn't say "thank you" which actually happens often.

On meals I usually do 20% regardless of service and my husband does 15% regardless of service. If he's tipping I'll leave a few extra if I have cash. We don't gamble except for the occasional lottery ticket so I have no ideas about those tips.

Thanks to the recommendations on here we got the cards for the various casino's to eat at the buffets with a discount. I wasn't sure what to tip for drinks so I did $1 a drink.

I know from staying in hotels to leave tip money for the cleaning ladies. We usually leave around $5 but our friends from California that we've traveled with will usually leave $20 because they're used to spending more. I wonder if we should leave more. If it's a nicer place I sometimes do.

We rented a car to get around town this last trip, while we went to look at places to live before we move there, and we did valet at all the hotels. What do you tip valets? We gave them a couple of bucks each time they brought the car but not when they parked it. A couple times we gave them $5 because we didn't have change. I saw one guy that came after us tipped $20 at the JW Marriott in Summerlin and he wasn't in a fancy car. I wonder what's appropriate. When we ask the valets at the various hotels we're staying they won't give us an answer. They say we don't have to tip them anything or that we can tip them whatever we want.

Normally $2-$5 when the valet brings the car around for us. I don't tip when I drop off, but friends of ours do. I don't think it's expected like it is when they pull the car around.

No, it's not.

All the more reason to do it.

I used to tip at dropoff when I had my company cars, but I'm driving a 3 year old Jeep now, not a current year Lexus. Although that shouldn't have any bearing, with my company car, I wanted special treatment. Now I don't care what they do with it lol

No it's not being cheap but I like breakfast buffet. Buffet is $4.99 so it's one or two left at table. Yet I tip cashier a buck and the person who leads to table a buck. Then I try to wreck the buffet.
