Please check out the link I posted in another thread. People are still moving here, apparently they feel pretty comfortable, lol.

Whenever someone speaks something bad about Las Vegas Olecapt, you come around saying the opposite. I have no idea what your intentions are on lying to people. Maybe you work for the las vegas govt as a public relations person. Hope they pay you well for misleading people about Las Vegas.

I have some sixteen years of experience in Las Vegas. at various times I was heavily involved on zoning and planning issues as a community activist. My group...the NW Citizens was mostly pretty successful.

I have ten years experience as a Las Vegas Real Estate Agent. I am trained as an engineer and am reasonably good with a spread sheet and a graph.

Being a life long engineer I find it very difficult to suffer fools.

Fools appear here constantly trying to denigrate Las Vegas on matters where they have no knowledge.

If you actually have an understanding of what you are talking about you need have no fear of olecapt. If however you are talking out of your nether orifice expect a hard time. Your choice.

The difference is in the delivery.

You flaunt your knowledge as opposed to using it to further educate people. It seems to me you like to make people think you were just spat from the womb with the sum-total of your experience.

Graphs and data are meaningless without people skills. And you really should learn to pick your battles better here on CD...as smart as you are.

You aren't really conceding to other's opinions. Let the reader decide.

You are correct. I don't suffer fools well. Facts are facts. That you prefer them sugar coated is your right. But don't try to inflict that sad custom on me.

I come from a long background of managing large engineering projects. I have watched fools who should know better make the same mistake again and again. If you sugar coat it they proceed to do the stupid. If you point out that it is stupid clearly at least you force them to face the issue. The ability of people to take the easy way if not forced to contemplate what they actually do never ceases to amaze me.

I have absolutely no problem with other people's opinions. I do however deny you or anyone the right to your own facts.

If you wish to opine that UMC will close in three years that is your right. I may well point out that there are a number of facts that contend against that happening..I may even point out that your opinion is not rational given the reality. But I don't argue with your opinion. Believe what you want.

I don't generally pick battles. Someone else does. I simply respond to the idiocy.

Find a place where I responded roughly to a gentle opinion.

I am sorry my friend but you are way off base. Suffering fools is a no win. Hopefully with further seasoning you will figure that out.

No it is not in "dire" shape.

It loses money and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

The proposals that exist would mostly spread the pain to the other local hospitals by one means or the other. None fix the problem - just spread it around differently.

The rational thing to do is pull the UN medical school to Las Vegas and combine it with the hospital. That provides a substantial school to UNLV and lets the state University system pick up all or a good part of the cost. Start reducing the role of UNR and enhancing that of UNLV.

Excuse me!! No need to put people down that don't believe everything you say. You like to paint Las Vegas with a rainbow above it. This is not the case. Granted during your days, people were making tons of money. This is not happening now. People are losing jobs and properties are still coming down for years to come. Your intentions are to mislead people.
