Has anyone stayed at the Sedona Condos/ Apartments. I am liking the area and am tossing up between Park Ave, Manhattan Sedona and Boca Ratton.

With Sedona being the cheapest of the lot but still in the same area I was wondering other than being a couple of years older than the others and only 2 story rather than multi is there another reason why staying there is significantly cheaper.

I also notice that Park Avenue is open to section 8 applicants and wonder if that will make a difference in future rent prices at that group of apartments?

Sedona was a condo conversion of a run of the mill apartment complex. The other places were built as higher end condos. So definitely should be a price differential.

As Willy said...

Sedona is simply of a different class. Not remotely competitive with Park, Manhattan, Boca.

There is no Section 8 permission. In general these places are simply too expensive for Section 8. And allowing Section 8 is an owners decision. I doubt an HOA could block Section 8 without violating the housing laws.

Awesome, thank you for that. I could have sworn I had seen "section 8 ok" on one of the advertisements for Park Ave.

I am actually leaning more towards Park Ave and Boca with Park Ave being my favorite thus far. I am concerned though about noise levels in the multiplex's such as these.

Uhhh no. This guy is repping one unit and may not even be taking Section 8 on that one. Simply the name of the operation.

Section 8 can happen anywhere but has relatively low rent limits and reasonably stringent limits on income.

Coming from Australia, I dont know much about how section 8 works I figure its sort of like our public housing here but instead works more like a voucher system where the government picks up part of the rent?

I guess it doesn't particularly matter as a renter as I am sure the HOA will keep everyone in line regardless if they are section * renters, interstate renters, overseas renters or anything else.

The main reason I ask is because here most public housing is young families and I would prefer to live in a quieter setting as I understand that kids like to run and jump and play, so a large family orientated appartment/condo complex may not be suitable for me.

I'm not an expert on it, but I believe section 8 gives the recipient a voucher they can use on any housing they can rent. The idea is not to concentrate the poor in housing projects and create a ghetto. If the LL will take the voucher, the renter can use it there.
