Wranglers attendance improving now and then this happens. Pretty lame move by Boyd, but typical treatment of sports by casino minds around here.

I wouldn't consider it a lame move if the team isn't making them money. It's business, nothing more.

They'll probably wind up at the South Point Arena, which might be a better fit, anyway.

I'm not buying it from Boyd management that the Wranglers fans don't make them money. They charge rent for the place, make almost all the money from concessions and get a ton of traffic from the games. Sure a concert or event which they market to non-locals can earn more, but do they seriously think they are going to get 40 events which meet this standard?

South Point seems to make sense, but the way they have marketed the place as all about the rodeo and horse events makes it hard to imagine them shifting away from the business model. Besides they are cut from much the same cloth as Boyd people, but I suppose some could hang their hat on the Gaughan's being better supporters of Las Vegas in general.

Even though I don't attend Wranglers games anymore, its sad to see this antipathy about sports in Las Vegas. The powers that be let situations like this stamp out every hope of giving fans something to watch in pro sports. I am pretty sure the 51s situation with the stadium can't go on much longer. If they don't get a new location in the next few years I'd be shocked if they didn't leave town too. Imagine that a city of 2 million and it very well could have zero professional teams of any kind unless you think indoor soccer or women's lingerie football to be legitimate options.

I like attending Wranglers games and 51's games. Unfortunately, like many locals, I just don't get out there and support them like I should. You get home from work, you're tired blah blah blah.

The only time I've seen huge support for local sports was when The Runnin Rebels were under the leadership of Jerry Tarkanian, and kicking some major ass. That was a long time ago.

The Wranglers have always been a class act and they have some great promotions for a family to attend games and only charged $6.00 for kids under 12. Corporate business decisions like this one are heartless and they screw anyone for the next $$$ too bad because the Wranglers will not stay here they must move to unstable because of the Corporate casinos mindless thinking.

I haven't been to a Wranglers game yet, but I do like going to 51s games. I, like you, need to make it a point to get to more. Especially Thursday $1 beer nights at Cashman

My family attends many Wrangler games every season and have had season seats in prior years...going to see them and the 51s are awesome cheaper options for families that have kids...pro sports teams are just too expensive and have priced the average family out of going to their games as even spring training baseball is getting out of hand

This is getting pathetic. How hard can it be to get at least a one year lease? Also heard rumblings some bigger powers are quietly trying to put the brakes on UNLVs stadium efforts. Seems to me the casino leaders feel sports of any kind is detrimental to them except fighting sports. Even minor league sports.
