Ok, I bought a bunch of burlap at the nursery (Star), as Home Depot was out of it. Wrapped all the trees individually and hope for the best

So the freezing temps are over but I hear it could get really cold again in another week or two.

Can I keep the burlap around the trees or do I need to remove them and wrap again right before the cold?

Can I leave them on the whole winter, ie thru January?

I would take it off when there is no threat of frost. Don't leave it on for the next six weeks.

mine made it through this past freeze with flying colors... some of the new growth was frozen, but over all they are all alive and well.

How do you know if you tree has had it? I didnt wrap mine during the cold snap and some of the tips of the branches were black. There are still some withered leaves hanging on. I dont care too much about the fruit, but just want the tree to survive.

Or do I get one giant cover and put it over them all for a greenhouse effect? I have seen a 10'x20' cover available to buy, which might work.

Do I just cover the bases of the trees with a blanket or towel?

Help. I am a plant noob and I know I need to do something quick. My 3' lime tree survived last year with some burlap wrapped around it, but the lemon trees are new.
Next time, Google "sawdust heater". You can make several of these (they are super easy to make) and place them around the trees, also moving the air around with a fan will be helpful too.

In the day, huge commercial orchards used to use similar equipment to keep their trees from freezing.

Wrap it before the next hit. cold is cumulative.

Don't dump it until spring. I would prune off any actual dead branches but let the rest be until spring...then you know.
