YOur problem Tij is that Las Vegas is in fact rather well paid.

Compare the salary in the MSA to that in others. Las Vegas is pretty high.

So no we don't compete with San Jose. But we do reasonably well against Phoenix, or the Inland Empire or Dallas.

How is that for weird.

I heard Phoenix is 20x worse than Vegas at trying to find a decent job and not to expensive place to live.

Phoenix's job market is stronger than ours. Their economy is more diversified. That's if you have skills. If you are talking about unskilled labor (waiting tables, porter, valet, etc.) Vegas can't be beat, provided you can actually GET one of those jobs these days.

And no offense to the waitstaff, valets, and porters. I know these jobs require skills, but they are classified as "unskilled" in the HR vernacular.
