In 1-2 days after recording my purchase of a condo, my relator
Found that someone had stolen the refrigerator out of it.
Welcome to Las Vegas.
It was a forclosed Fannie Mae property. Relator said "seller"
Just refused to do anything about it.
Seller had rewritten contract (which I signed) saying as is &
That they were not responsible for stolen property. What a coincidence
That someone walked/wheeled out a full size stainless steel
Fridge probably just after pad lock cut off the garage.

Relator said there's not much to do about this. Except for an
Email from the seller to him stating that I can keep the appliances.
Does anyone have any idea if I can get any recourse?
This continues to annoy me as now I must return a refrigerator
I purchased at the sears outlet. A fan is broken & it just
Feels like a lemon to me. They said no problem but I may just
Want to get one @ lowes as their extended warranty runs $300
Less than sears. Wasn't going to get it but a sears tech
Told me the labor to fix one part of the computerized part
Was $ 196.

Have been pretty fortunate with other move- related things
But the refrigerator issue seems to be an albatross.

Any ideas? The lender thinks Fannie Mae should know about the
Theft but who ? What office?

It's possible a realtor stole it, but who knows. Just look for a new fridge.

I bet the seller took it, thinking he was going to get every penny possible after losing his home.

I'm sorry to hear you went through that, it sucks big time. I'd say just get a new fridge and move on, get the incident behind you.

Same thing happened to me, someone walked off with the spa heater.

You can probably find the fridge on Craigslist.

Things were really bad a few years ago. People were taking cabinets, pretty much everything they had done to their homes. People have this mentality that they bought the stuff so it belong to them. Ah well, just a fridge. I bet it was a good one too.

I would at least file a police report- they may have taken other things you're not aware of yet- till you go to use it or turn it on and it's not there. Geez- what kind of world do we live in where someone commits a grand theft felony and you have 3 out of 4 people telling you no big deal and get over it? ...............I personally don't bend over that easily
