My wife and I are looking for a quick trip to California to see those giant trees. Could someone tell me where exactly the closest redwoods to Las Vegas are? TIA

Time-wise, the closest are the stand of redwoods next to the TransAmerica tower in San Francisco. Hop a flight to SFO or OAK (OAK is closer and less expensive via SpiritAir), take BART to Embarcadero and walk to the financial district. You can be there from McCarran in around two hours.

The best Redwood stands in my opinion are in California state parks. (Mod cut -- off topic)

I did google it before I posted. Just wanted to check with the gang here. Looks like Sequoia National Forest is the closest drive then. About a 6 hour drive.

That's about right. Maybe a little longer. Be careful of a speed trap near Tehachapi. And don't get eaten by them barrs. There might be some in Kern Canyon which is closer, but I don't know for sure. The General Sherman, the world's largest tree by volume, is in Sequoia.
