Chaste tree is beautiful but messy, love the purple flowers during the Spring and early Summer, messy tree. Cherry trees are nice with their pink flowers during the Spring and beautiful burgundy leaves but borers love the Cherry tree. Most of the Cherry trees around town have been taken down. It gets sickly easily. Same with Mimosa tree.

In my neighborhood, there is one Cherry tree left by the gate, a healthy tree and the landscapers pruned one of the branches. Im hoping it does not get the borers. It is a healthy tree with no scarring and then one day the damn landscapers chopped one of the branches. It is not even blocking the driveway. Keeping an eye on it. My sister used to have a Cherry tree in the frontyard, it was beautiful while it lasted, same problem borers.

Best bush/tree for perimeter border in Vegas-20150730_160444-1-.jpg

There is no problem with the wall. It is already textured and painted.

The problem is we have no privacy from houses on either side of us and behind us.

I'm trying to find some bushes and trees that will grow tall enough to give us some cover yet not drop leaves etc into the pool.

I will check on the trees mentioned and also take the Japanese Blueberry off my list. I'm just buy a couple right now in case they die.

Italian Cypress won't drop leaves or fruits. It's drought tolerant. It doesn't take up a lot of space because it grows straight up.

I'd still go with "no plants at all." Unless you're into skinny dipping....

Italian cypress is like planting a 20-foot tall pencil. You'd need a ton of them to do any good.

I do like the low maintenance of all concrete. I'm tired of pulling weeds and cleaning up trees and bushes.

In this case we need some sort of privacy. I feel like we are in a fish bowl.

true , but with proper pruning and care they will thicken up nicely over time. (must flat top them when tall enough so they grow thicker/wider to fill in the areas between trees.)
