It's considerably easier to take that same gambling budget and invest it in a relatively safe manner. And then people don't have to stare at video-poker, or play poker, or anything else. I don't see how people can see Las Vegas gambling as "entertainment." Take away the money, and NONE of these "games" are really games at all. They're all as boring as watching paint dry, if money is removed from the equation.

The thing that got me was looking at my win/loss statement. I lost more than I won and had no clue. Something else that made me think was as many times as I have walked through some casino's I have yet to see anyone or hear any hit anything big. What's up with that?

Bottom line line is there may be a few wins but it looks like in the long term the house wins.. So for me it's do the Big progressives as a lotto when passing but bring me to the buffet.. More sausage please...
Really??? This is news to all of us locals. We thought it was easy to win.

Welcome to the Silver State CaltoTBCOTA. You don't need to gamble anymore; you're a local now.

I see what you mean. But if youre from Des Moines (thats my go to lol) and you come to Las Vegas and you get to walk through the Bellagio and Ceasars on Saturday night dressed to kill and you walk up to the craps table with a benjamin and the dealers are spitting the lingo and everyone is cheering because the table is hot and the cocktail waitress has her ass and **** hanging out bringing you stiff well drinks and there are split tails everywhere on the way to the nightclub. Yes, it is entertaining.
Going to the Cannery and watching some blue hair smoke cigarettes while hooked up to an oxgen tank mindlessly push a button and look at a screen on a Tuesday afternoon. No, its not entertaining.

Young people have no desire to play slots, I'm curious what the casinos' plan is when their player demographic starts shifting.

I disagree in regards to poker. I don't gamble AT ALL, but five card stud is rather amusing to play. That Texas hold'em stuff they do in the casinos is too complicated for me because of all that "river card" nonsense, but old fashioned five card stud is fun. If you make it strip poker, it's even more fun.

We used to have poker nights at my house (no, not strip poker) and the boys really enjoyed it.

As to the OP, yes, betting is for suckers. They didn't put marble floors in the Bellagio because the patrons were winning. That said, some people enjoy it, and it keeps our city afloat. Go for it, and good luck. Sometimes people do get lucky.

I see the same hotties every evening when I leave work. And I don't have to play craps to do so. If the goal is just "people watching" I think there are better ways to do so than at the craps table. I'd probably just go to one of the pool parties instead. (Which can cost more than gambling.)

I'm a gamer and I find no entertainment value in playing a slot machine. Even those stupid dog/horse racing gambling machines are unappealing.
