How do you find the time and money to go to so many shows. I'm eighteen and only new of a handful of these "bands."

Isn't the event kind of an indie thing as opposed to a big-name thing? Might be some up and coming talent there, or it might be the fact that June in Vegas is HOT, and the big names didn't want to perform.

Last years event here was a success. I wish them well. It sort of reminds me of the old days when the deadheads would show up for a concert.

We go to 2 or 3 shows a week. Most are smaller local shows but probably a half-dozen national shows a month. We are fortunate to know people in the industry so get a lot of invites.

I saw "electronic" bantered about quite a bit, and I prefer my music to have instruments. I love seeing new bands for the first time, but only if they are musicians. I need a bass, drums, and a guitar (keys, and addt'l guitars optional)

Regarding your comment on Electric Daisy being an indie event:
If comparing this event to generic pop artists like Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, etc, rappers like Lil Wayne and Wiz Khalifia, and the figureheads of alternative rock and country, then I guess you could say that the support for the type of music that Electric Daisy showcases does not quite measure up. It is not necessarily top 40 music (although Swedish house mafia is an exception) but it is the processed, commercialized version of the electronic music industry. In other words, it is basically the mainstream aspect of a particular subculture. So while it is "indie" compared to genuine pop culture, it is a symbol of pop culture in its specific field.

I also think that the deadheads had a lot more cultural significance than these overhyped festivals.
