Hey Everyone,
Vegas is our vacation home and we haven't been back for a month and wont be there again until 4th of July. I installed a nest hemostat in the 2nd floor and its shows outside temp 101 and inside 83 with no AC turned on, does this sound right? Will the house be that cool compared to the outside temp. I have my ac set to 85 and seems to never need to kick in and was just wondering if this seems normal. Just worried about if the house gets too hot.

Thanks!

My wifi thermostat upstairs is set to 88F and it's showing 85F in the house right now. Based on the daily energy usage of the house on the NVEnergy web site, I'd say the A/C hasn't kicked on this week at all. I was there as recently as two weeks ago and ran the A/C so I know it's functional.

cool so the house can be 10-15 degrees cooler than outside temp. I know its partially because we live in a highrise but inside always seems to 10 degrees hotter than outside in Chicago.

Yes, it's probably fine. Much depends on the way your windows face, and how good your insulation is.

It still gets "relatively" cool at night still so that does sound normal.

We have 2 nest thermostats in our house. They have been completely accurate. They were great when we took a recent trip back east and could adjust the temp's inside the house remotely for our cats.
