Realtor.com is where I found mine. Even if the place turns out to be not so great, the realtor listing it has other rentals too. Actually, that is exactly how we found ours, we went out to look at a rental I found on the site, and I didn't like it, so the realtor took us to another one and we fell in love with it.

I pounded all the apartment websites until I could narrow it down to what I wanted. You didn't give us much to work with which is why I suspect you're not getting any useful feedback.

What's important to you? Location near your future workplace or near fun times or near shopping? Price? Security? There are a ton of posts already referencing what areas are popular and why, check them out. If you're still finding employment and not sure where you'll work, just get a centrally located apt (for a single guy, there are some plenty of cheapo places if you don't mind trading a little security).

Good luck to you.

A little more specifics.

Below 500 you are renting rooms. Craig's list.

500 to 750...small apartments in non-prime areas

750-1000...good apartments Some condos

1000 - 1250 good apartments...nice condos.

1250-1500 Deluxe apartments...deluxe condos...small single families.

1500 up...all sorts of stuff.

Think about where...you want GV or Summerlin? Add 200.

yea youre right. sorry for no details. well, what im looking for is a place a little below 1000. it might sounds unreasonable but thats all i can afford right now.
of course, location is pretty important. somewhere south of the strip. i dont want to be near it because its too bright. but i also want a place thats pretty safe. if im going to be parking my truck outside of a garage, ( i have hundreds of dollars of computer parts and tools inside) i want the place to be safe of course. when it comes to the actual place, im not too picky. it doesnt have to be so big just needs a kitchen, a bathroom, and a small "living room" type place where i can set up my computer and small office. hope this info helps a bit. and ill be checking out those website when i get the free time. thanks !

I hate to say this, but if you are going to park a truck outside filled with tools and computer parts, you better have it locked in a garage overnight, every night.
If the truck is too big to fit in the garage, then you will have to remove the valuables every night.
You can end up in the so-called best area, park your truck outside, and someone will rip off all the tools, and you'll never see them again.

There are plenty of apts below $1000 in a decent enough area, and alot come with garages. The garages are usually off to one side away from the apts. Some are connected. When you do a search at any of the apt sites (rent.com, move.com, apartments.com, forrent.com etc) look for the ones with garages.

You can easily pick up a condo south of the strip. Silverado/Eastern/Horizon Ridge. A garage would cut your choices down to a half dozen or so. Garages are rare. Likely get a 2/2 for around 900 in a gated condo. If you don't get a garage i would rig a good alarm system.

Send me a dm if you want the listings..

Yes, rig an alarm system so the perp gets electrocuted. Of course then you'll have to sneak out late and toss their body in the dumpster.
But then again, it's probably against the law. lol

A safer bet and less chance doing prison time would be to take your valuables inside each night.
