I'm meeting a friend of mine next month for the Who concert at the Hard Rock. We are staying at the Trump because she wants to avoid smoke as much as possible. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good restaurant close to the Trump? She bought the concert tickets so I want to treat her to a great dinner.

I was looking for a personal recommendation from someone who posts here. I am aware of the multitude of online restaurant review sites and the fact that Las Vegas has restaurants. Did someone pee in your wheaties?

No worries. Someone nice always comes along to help.

Trump sits back from The Strip about a block. But, the Fashion Show Mall is right next to Trump (South side) and has several good places to eat. I like the California Pizza Kitchen, RA Sushi and The Capital Grille. It also has a Johnny Rockets, a Little Italy, and assorted cafes along with a food court.

^^ Somebody is wearing his cranky pants this morning.

I was going to recommend the Rosewood Grill which used to be over in that area, but I see that it's now closed. I'm not all that familiar with strip restaurants (like most locals I avoid the strip), but my standard answers are the Grand Lux or Bouchon, both located in the Venetian. I have relatives who worked in both of those places and both were proud of the food being served.

I'm considering the Capital Grille since it's close by in the Fashion Show Mall. I love the Grand Lux but we have been there before and like to try a new restaurant each trip. Thanks for the Bouchon recommendation.

Your other choices at Fashion Show are Maggionos Little Italy, Grimaldi's Pizza (best brooklyn pizza) and StripBurger.

I tried the Boca Park Grimaldi's location and loved it.

My only suggestion is to be aware of WHERE you are staying. Yes the Trump is nice, yes the Fashion Show Mall is nice, but be aware of what is located on the OTHER side of Trump - it's the red light district. There's nothing wrong with it, just want you NOT to be shocked. I worked for MGM/Mirage, in their corporate offices, which is located behind Trump (actually, we watch Trump being built from our office windows). When I first went to work there, mgmt decided to leave out that little tidbit of info. Here I was looking for a little corporate office sign, had they told me "we are located directly across the street from 'strippers r us'" it would've been A LOT easier to find the offices
