hello all. i'm looking to move to the las vegas area from a mid size beach town in florida. i'm just in the beginning stages of my research. i like the idea of moving to boulder city because of less crime & its close enough to vegas. but i get the impression that it is expensive to live there. is that true? can anyone tell me what an average 3 bedroom 2 bath house costs? & are they all older houses? i tried to look it up but only 2 houses came up in the results & they were built in the 70s. maybe i should look into having a house built? i'm so confused!

does anyone have any suggestions for other places to look that are near vegas but with less crime?

sorry i have a lot of questions. just want to be close enough to vegas but sort of wanting the smaller town feel with low crime as i plan on having kids soon. thanks in advance for any help!

Henderson is areal nice place to live low crime, Henderson Police are all over the place, you don't feel like you live in Vegas at all.

BC is relatively expensive. The stock of homes is also mostly older...there are only a few homes built in the last 25 years. Many go back 50 or more. You can find 3/2s from around 150K up. Reasonable lot sizes in general. Smaller homes are probably 50% more than the similar house would be in Las Vegas.

It is a bit of a commute if you are planning on working in Las Vegas though lots of people do it.

Good Henderson or Summerlin are among areas with relatively low crime and closer in. They are also the more expensive areas. Young family areas with lower costs are places like Mountain's Edge or Centennial Hills or Aliante. They have reasonable low crime levels.

You have lots of choices actually...
