Hey everyone, I've been planning a move to Arizona and now considering Nevada. I was originally headed to Phoenix, then Tucson was recommend as I would get more bang for my buck there. Through a heck of a search I found a very decent studio apartment in my tight budget in Arizona. I'm wondering about Nevada now. I'm a young single guy and I work from home and need a place to build up my business. Can I get more for my dollar in Vegas than Tucson, or any part of Nevada?

I'm looking for $500 and under rent, clean, quiet place no sanitary problems etc in an area I can walk to places in as no car yet. Thanks for your help!!

If you have to have "clean, quiet, and no sanitation issues" then you will have go with a roommate.

If you really want to stretch your rent budget go somewhere even cheaper like Texas. $500 a month goes quite far in some of the more distant suburbs or rural areas.

I'm having trouble finding Vegas apartments with decent reviews even with a $700-$1000 budget. Sheesh. Maybe I'll stick with Arizona.

There is very little difference between Tucson and Las Vegas. Neither is either expensive or dirt cheap.

For cheap someplace more rural. For Vegas try Pahrump. Lots of places around Phoenix.

What site are you going to for reviews? I once saw a terrible review for my last apartment from a 3 year tenant. If a place is that bad, why continue to renew the lease?

Grain of salt.

As I've been continually planning on a move to Tucson, with 2 RE agents giving me updates for over a year now for the type of properties I'm seeking, within a certain price range, real estate prices are more expensive in Tucson than Las Vegas, and subsequently the rent.

Tucson never went on the wild overbuilding sprees than Las Vegas or Phoenix did, and if I were solely looking for a cheap place to rent in AZ, it wouldn't be Tucson!

I just moved here and found an apartment in Henderson for $651 includes washer & dryer and basic cable. It's not "high living" but it's not bad either. I've lived in worse apartments.
