In my move here I forced a large box into the backseat of my car. In doing so the outer part of the armrest was pulled off and is now hanging from the armrest. The insulation for the armrest is now visible. The piece that is now hanging doesn't appear to be ripped and I think can be reattached by someone that knows what they are doing. Unfortunately, I don't know what I am doing. I have gone into an Autozone and they don't have anything for this kind of problem.

I have called some local body shops and they don't do this kind of work. They have suggested to go to an upholstery repair shop. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this problem or know of a place that does this kind of repairs?

If you have an older car hit up the junk yard. You can go do the dealer and perhaps order one. Or you can take it to an upholsterer and have them fix it. Or you can duct tape it. Every car worth it's salt has had some duct tape on it at some point.
