I suppose you can do that if you are moving and there is no other way to do it. I have seen people do this. Take the back streets, stay off of the main ones.
Just don't leave it there and use it for an outdoor bed.

I don't know about the legality of that.

What I do know is that you can rent a pickup truck from Home Depot: $19 for 90 minutes.

If it fell off it could be a real problem for the cars behind it. I can't imagine someone taking a mattress on the freeway but I have had to dodge some real shrapnel. I agree with you about the government not getting involved if there isn't anybody else involved but it is a different story when you can hurt others.

You already have the liability if youre stupid enough to do this....Insurance is REQUIRED Liability is ASSUMED.....

It must be, everybody does it. I've seen several that didn't quite get to where they were going though, even on the freeway. You'd think they'd at least stick to surface streets and drive slow.
