AA, Unfortunately it doesn't take a majority to ruin something, a few bad apples are doing just fine. If the ever increasing crime, grafiti, etc, doesn't bother you, just wait, in time it will. You just haven't reached your limit yet.

That reminds me of the time that some a-hole or a-holes stole stuff from my house for the third time. At the time I said, well, it could have been worse, they could have broken into my home, stole everything, raped or killed my family, then burned the whole thing down, so I guess it was a good thing what they did. It was my fault for having nice things in the first place.

such a hater. kinda disturbing to find that overweight and "poor looking" people offend you. until you go to my motherland and see how bad their problems are compared to vegas, then you dont know what youre talking about. oh and vegas is a bad place to raise children ? i think your house is a bad place to raise children. who knows ? you might even teach them that overweight and "poor looking" people are the "bad guys"
Good post Toyojo. I have been to many countries that just about breaks your heart. Go to India, Kenya, Ethiopia, Niger, Aden, Thailand, Philipines, and I could go on and on. Great, hard working people that just want a shot at life. Only to be limited because of thier country, governement, etc... I sure hope over the next 10-20-30 years most of these pompus people come of their high horse and appreciate people for who they are. Most won't as they never give themselves the opportunity.
I was in Santa Monica this weekend, you can have it!!! The self righteous attitudes of the people there, I don't need that. I asked for directions at a gas station on lincoln rd, and the clerk seemed as if I had interupted her. I tried to get change for a dollar at a Quiznos and the man there was an ass. People were just rude and arrogant. Screw that, I have yet to meet as many nasty people here in Las Vegas. For the most part, they are nice and helpful. They may be ugly and fat by your standards, but they respect others more.

agreed. i came from the Philippines and let me tell you.. life there is rough. whatever problems that tinastone mentioned is literally 10x worse back where i came from. drugs are rampant, kids are forced to work, drunk driving is as common as people driving here, and the list goes on. people like them dont realize that there are places MUCH worse than las vegas. in fact, i think las vegas is a great place. thats why i moved here.

i also had a similar experience. whenever i go to work in manhattan beach, i sometimes get called out to work at at a clients house. i often get lost since i have not been to their place before. and asking directions in places like rancho cucomounga (spelling ?) and other prominent neighborhoods can be a pain. sometimes the people make you feel as if youre an idiot. here in vegas, when i ask for directions or if someone is leaving their parking space, they have been very polite so far. im sure vegas has their bad apples but believe me, it cant be worse than where i came from.
people like them tinastone need to appreciate that they are in such a good place as las vegas when compared to the places mentioned above.

I believe you. You made money at the expense of screwing the local who had the unforunate opportunity to buy your over inflated property thereby taking themselves to foreclosure and/or bankruptcy and screwing up their lives for the next 10 years. But hell..screwing a local Las Vegan is fun...and pays well. And they live in that awful place and should pay for the privelege. You are kidding right? The vast majority of us don't smoke, drink excessively, go to buffets or game very much. That is for tourists.

California has places where outside activity works well. It also has many where it does not. On balance it offers less than Las Vegas in its metro areas.
