Many of the jobs on Craigslist are bogus. A lot of them follow a pattern...

- they don't say the name of the company
- they tell you the hourly salary in the ad (legit companies will almost never put that in the ad)
- they list their location as "downtown" or "las vegas" (without caps). A legit company will often put their major cross-streets in their ad. A legit company will usually spell Las Vegas with caps because it's the professional thing to do!
- they use the same "bullet point" format for many different types of positions.

If you look on Craigslist a lot, you'll start to recognize the patterns of the bogus job offers.

But that's no reason NOT to look on Craigslist. It's just a reason to hone your built-in BS detector.

I've found several real jobs on CL. My problem with CL is that companies that can't afford to put out ads in the newspapers or on Monster.com use CL. I've worked for more than one place that simply shuttered their business without so much as a phone call.

How about a better attitude?

I understand your frustration but the people who are where you want to be doing what you want to do had to first make it thru the same process that you seem to feel is so unjustified.

Its just the reality of what is required.

OP was last on the site nine years ago. Don't sweat it, I've done it too, when someone resurrects a zombie thread, and I fail to check when the thread was created.

Yeah, I've done that as well. I always feel like a rocket scientist when that happens.

I love it when I start reading a thread, thinking it's new, and bump into one of my old posts.
