I'll be back to LV from Canada on July 7 and have rented a car this time and it will be the first time I have driven in LV myself. I figured since I bought the condo on Nellis I better get used to it. I have to go to the Imperial Palace on July 5th from the Golden Nugget and don't want to drive the Strip at all. I will need to park overnight in the IP parking garage (if there even is one anymore). I hear the parking is a mess due to Linq construction. Has anyone been up that way? I am assuming I could head East on Tropicana, cross LV Blvd, and turn left on Koval...From there I don't know what is happening in the way of detours or where to go. Anybody been up that way at all lately?

Why not park at Caesars? I park there alot as you access the parade without going onto the strip. (Frank Sinatra drive and jay Sarno way). Its across the street from the imperial palace.
I dunno.
Just one Canuck to another.

Binion get a GPS problem solved. I used one last time there and left Fremont st around 12:20 AM and was back at Boulder Station Casino in less than 15 minutes. This helps especially when driving in the day time then having to drive at night many of the familiar land marks are dark and you get confused real quick. I also used it to go to the Orleans from Boulder Station piece of cake. Enjoy your visit and in some MONEY!!!!

I have a Magellan I'm taking down for use in the rental but I have looked up on Google maps and Mapquest and they all still take you to the area before construction of the Linq leading you into the front area where the valets used to be from LV Blvd Strip. That area is totally under construction now (same as the LV Blvd parking entrance for Harrahs is gone). I assume that GPS's are not updated for detours and construction in Vegas. I just didn't want to get lost in the mess in behind Harrahs/IP/Flamingo but I'll try my best and be happy if I end up in any of the Caesar's properties' parkades. Speaking of Magellans/GPS's....It sure was handy when we drove the pickup down from Canada via WA/ID/Utah/NV and then back though Southern CA/OR coast/WA border. We've never driven through the US before and I don't know how we could of done it without that little box.

I have turn-by-turn navigation on my Android phone and yes, GPS is quite amazing!

I know IP's parking garage is usually easy to access from behind...but that was before construction.

Just found this on qnother site in case anyone is staying at the IP this Summer:

"You can get through by going in via Audrie and using the Flamingo entrance, then turn right past the timeshare place, but I found that to be awkward and very slow because of the construction traffic."

Koval is a mess. The traffic starts just north of the MGM parking garage and doesn't stop until Flamingo. Park at Caesar's and walk across LV Blvd to IP.
