Just curious from the locals what the best sportsbook in Vegas is (you can give two answers: one on-strip, and one off-strip).

I visit quite a bit and have two friends who are locals, so I can get around pretty easily, but I'd also like to know a good one that is on the strip.

Btw, I just visited and was at New York New York and decided to watch an NBA playoff game at their sportsbook but it was pathetic, like 3 rows of seating in a hallway, and had to tilt my head way back to look up at the monitors. Mandalay Bay is pretty nice, but I'd like to know what the locals say.

There is no best sportsbook. You need to first check out the lines at all of them and choose the one who's line is best at that time.

Depends what you are looking for. Best place to watch a game or best place to bet a game. If you are betting seriously people tend to like Fremont St because you can bet 3 or 4 places during a halftime. If you want to hang out and eat it's hard to beat Lagasse's Stadium.

AVOID Boyd and Station's properties, they employ inbreds. Right now Cantor gaming is your best bet... Venetian, LeGasse and/or M.

Things are changing rapidly, William Hill is on the rise and will soon control 55% of the market share. They could be the future premier sports betting consolidation IF they play their cards right (pun intended).

Thanks. I am looking for the best place to watch a game.
I am a casual sports bettor, not real hard core.

I've seen people mentioning a place called Leroy's in other threads.
Is it a good place to watch a game?

I've also read that the sportsbook at the Wynn is nice.

Leroy's isn't an actual physical sportsbook. They run betting machines and kiosks that are franchised throughout the areas.

I like the sports book at the Las Vegas Hotel (formerly the Hilton). It's huge, tons of TVs, and good cocktail service. Since it's not on the strip, it tends to be not as crowded as some of the bigger books in strip casinos.

Depends on if you want to drink for cheap or free and how long before the game you plan to get there. Lagasse's is an awesome place to watch, but the drinks and food are expensive. Locals places are consistently good sportsbooks since that is a big part of their clientele.
