Bringing an old thread back to life....... like the original poster, I am OCD about keeping my car clean. Where I live in an apartment now, I do have access to a hose. But in thinking about a move to LV, I am seeing that most apartment complexes do not have an open hose for residents to use, right? Is it against the law or something? Is water in short supply in Nevada?

Has anyone used the coin operated self wash bays? What does it cost there? The ones around here you have to put in $2 and you get 4 minutes I think on the timer which would be a total pain in the rear.

If you lived in my neighborhood and I saw you draining your pool into the street, I would have reported you to SNWA. Ignorant people need to be punished.

You're allowed to wash each car once per week under current SNWA drought restrictions. Unless the HOA pays your water bill, I'm not sure why they would create a rule that restricts your water use (mine doesn't).
I wonder how long it would take an arrogant person to drain 4,000 gallons of water down their sewer. You stick the hose in your toilet, the kitchen sink, or...?

I spent a total of 8 bucks at one the other day, including the vacuum, but my car was really dirty so I had to keep feeding the thing more quarters. And no, you can't wash your car with an apartment complex hose.

Coin Operated wash bays are available in Green Valley, Pecos and Windmill Pkwy, I used them 4 years ago (last time), they were $2 in quarters for the first eight minutes and then you add quarters on as needed basis before it quits. Typically cost me $3.00 to wash my car and they you need another $1.00 for vacuum.

I have had great success using Worx Hydroshot cordless pressure washer. You hook on a two liter bottle and use a soap dispenser/cannon filled with 2oz of turtle wax zip wax. I soap the car down brush it and then hit it with clear water with the Hydroshot. Towel dry and good to go takes about 20minutes. No hose necessary I just put 4 two liter bottles filled with water in a bucket and I can do a large SUV.

I have a silver grey car, always park my car in the garage when not using it. I never wash my car, only wipe it with wet towels twice a year. It a 10 year old car and I dont care.

A house that has a pool should have a clean out drain
https://www.phoenix.gov/waterservice...linfo/poolinfo

Some people may have it and not be aware of it. Mine is located in the wall. So this applies to me:
"Caution: Using a clean-out in the wall is risky and the potential for water backing up into the home is great."
