I love Ross stores for clothes. We don't have them where I am from, and last time I was there I wasn't sure all of the great deals I found were going to fit into my suitcase!

You can find almost anything you need at Walmart.

Heck, there's plenty of the usual stores (small and big-box) you find in typical American cities. Sure, there's an over-abundance of top-end stores in the tourist areas - but get outside of those and regular grocery and dry-goods stores exist.

My condo is on The Strip and I travel about half a mile to hit the stores where locals shop. For stocking up on basic grocery items I use Von's delivery.

I like Ross too. We also have TJ Maxx and Marshalls. Marshalls is one of my faves for shoes, next to DSW ( Designer Show Warehouse). Khols is very popular for bargain clothing.

The designer outlet mall near downtown is fun and sometimes you can pick up a steal. My favorite though (when I get to that side of town, is Nordstrom's Rack. Some people even make a business out of buying stuff there and selling it on EBay.

Agreed!

They recently opened a Winco near me. I haven't been there, but my husband raves about it. Especially the bulk spice isle where you can by just what you need so it doesn't go stale.

I need to add Winco to my market report. But the executive summary is -- the bulk food section is great for some things. But nothing else in the store is worth buying. (Unless the shopper has a thing for Hot Pockets, frozen pizza and soda.)
