There are only a handful of pools in Talus. And they're all above-ground. There's ONE house with a small in-ground pool in Crestline. But that was done at the time of construction.

Why not just use the new Hollywood Aquatic Center? It's within walking distance -- and a LOT less money than running a pool pump.

And if you HAVE to have a private pool, why not just cancel and buy an existing house that has one? There are plenty in Sunrise Manor to choose from.
We have tried looking for houses with pool. It's a bidding war right now due to the limited available homes. We made offers above listing price by $10-$20K and still didn't get accepted. That's why my wife got tired and decided to buy new instead. I plan to live in this house for 10yrs or so. Getting a personal pool personally would be a good investment of enjoyment for the family and kids. I'm fully aware that it will not appraise the house higher.

Do you need to buy a house RIGHT NOW? This bidding war business will eventually cool off. Prices may be higher, but I suspect by fall it will start to cool off.

If it was up to me probably waited a little longer but wife decided she wants it now and it's her credit. She did all the paperwork already. She is happy about the decision since it's a new home and close to her family. I do like the small community and location.

I do hope the bidding war ends but not until banks stop controlling the market and inventory.

Well, there's still the Hollywood Aquatic Center within walking distance. I'd rather use that pool than throw the kind of money you're talking about away. You couldn't put in much more than a lap pool, anyway. Not unless you're willing to give up almost all of your back yard.
