Can someone please explain to me how you obtain a Members Card? Also I read about you accumulating points to qualify for things like free buffets. I don't know if these are one of the same thing or two different programs.

What counts as a point or points earned? I am assuming it is so many points for every dollar you gamble on machines? Can someone clarify how it works?

I think you got it... you earn points based on how much you spend on the machines/tables... poker aside because they run there own system of comps.

you get the cards(one card is good for all the different rooms in that owners chain of hotels) at guest services or at the players club kisok. any employee will guide you to it if you ask them for a players card.

If you have the MGM card, you also get points for hotel rooms, meals, and just about every dollar spent. Our only use for the cards is to get discounts (most of the time, just having the card is good for something).

Just go to the Member rewards center in each casino and ask to sign up for their player cards. They call them different things in different casino's. just ask a worker and they will show you where to go to sign up.
Some casino's are linked together so one card will work in several casino's.
You can redeem points for food and many other things. Get discounts on shows, etc. Plus by signing up for the cards, you will get offers in the mail and email for extra's. Free slot play, etc.
Plus most casino's will give you free slot play and other goodies when signing up.

Some people will tell you the cards are just ways for the casino to track your every move. I think they are great, though, because they can get you discounts and they are free, just like having a frequent shopper card at your grocery store or CVS or something. You earn points based on how much money you spend gambling and typically there is a set number of points to earn certain rewards. You can usually sign up on the casino's website but you will have to go to the reward desk in the casino in person to pick the card up.

Also remember if you plan to gamble on the strip casinos most of the time, MGM Resorts and Caesars own the majority of the major strip casinos. And sometimes when you sign up for the rewards card in the casino, you will get some amount of free play. For example when we signed up for Total Rewards (Caesars thing) at Paris LV, my wife and I each got $10 in free slot play.

[EDIT] I should read other replies more thoroughly. Most of this has already been said. I apologize!

We have the Station Boarding PAss and have had it for a while.. Since we do not live in Las Vegas, whenever we get ther ewe only use the cards so much, so it's not like we could be comped BIG.. But it does either give us free buffett or discounted ones... Which works just fine for us...
