Binion,
You should look into Cox internet as there is no hook up or discontinue charges so all we will be doing is calling a couple days before we go for them to turn on and than have them turn it off.
We got lucky and a phone book was in the unit we purchased not sure about next year.

I would bet that there's some younger readers on here wondering "What's a phone book?"

Does Las Vegas deliver them to your doorstep?

They still do that here and we get 2 different ones (Dex and Yellowbook). I usually toss them right in the recycling. It seems like such a waste of paper and money. Before smartphones I would carry the small version in my car for emergencies, but now I look up all numbers with my phone.

I talked to Cox about Internet and they indicated that until we retire and are down there for 4 or 5 months at a time it wasn't feasible for them to connect and disconnect if we're only down there off and on for 4 to 8 days at a time. I thought a phone book would be good as if I want to look up furniture or other retail stores and services I could get their address and enter in gps to get there since I still don't know LV streets and freeways yet.

What we were told was that we could turn on/off the Internet and tv whenever and put the phone into the lowest plan to keep the number and credit history with them.
I haven't had much luck dealing with them so far so I'll post once we have done it several times.

Thanks NU2LV...I would like to know what answer they give you if you want it on/off for times one or two weeks in duration per visit. Make sure you reiterate "no charge to do this" yet AGAIN to them when inquiring. I caught them up as they said Yes, after two weeks would be fine, but there would be a charge then..It seems no charge to connect/reconnect but you pay a "monthly" fee for the service even if it were for one week duration.

I think you spoke to a moron.
Before I moved here in 2011, I turned on and off the TV and Internet service 4 [f o u r ] times over the course of a year and a half.

Call them again and demand to speak to somebody with a brain.
