Global warming, genetic engineering, cloning. We're only a few short years from "replicants" and "the corporation."

At least we'll all get super cool trench coats. (Actually, we COULD have already bought them. For $500. Last year.)

Well I guess we better bump up those city lifeguard positions too. Wouldn't want to be carried out of the pool by anyone making less than 150k after all.

One aspect of moving to Las Vegas that continues to amaze me even after two years of living here is that people who pay exactly zero in state, county, and city income taxes, not to mention lower than average property taxes, still manage to complain about whatever low level of taxes they do have to pay.

Sadly (or not) depending on your perspective, she's likely just vocalizing how a lot of people feel. It's all about me, me me. I'm a separate island unto myself and everyone 'out there' is just either in my way or helping me get what I want.

Steve Wynn "donates" $150million to a Chinese school. Sheldon Adelson gives >$10 million to a loser. Meanwhile, they, and their companies pay next to nothing in taxes to support our state and local schools but....

... "overpaid" firemen is the problem with the state and ecomony??

I'm perfectly happy with my tax dollars going to fund schools (teachers salaries), fire departments (Fireman's salaries), Police (policeman's salaries)....but I am not OK with my tax dollars picking up the slack of billionaires who would rather support other countries/causes than support their own state/country.

Really? And exactly how much in taxes are you paying to fund these schools, fire departments and police salaries?

The taxes paid by the casinos and the tourists who visit them are the main reasion that you pay exactly zero in state, county, and city income taxes. Our property taxes are relatively low as well.

So exactly what is this tax burden of which you speak?

You are TOTALLY confused....I THINK you need to take a short course in the way things work here.
