Hey everyone,

Long time reader, only sparse poster though!

Wondering if there are some Canadians that can give me assistance. I am looking to speak with someone regarding work visa's and general acceptance for work into Las Vegas.

I would be looking to move to Las Vegas in the next 12-18 months. I would be looking for a management role in the rooms side of a hotel.

I know everyone will say jobs are tough, yes I realize. I know about the weather, neighborhoods all that etc. I would love to move out there to try it in the biggest hotel city in the world. I have spent much time off strip and really enjoy the city.

I suppose my question is: How did the Canadians get jobs in Vegas? How do you deal with work Visas? Did you get sponsored?

Just seems to me, there are lots of non US born people working in the hotels in Vegas. If they can get work there, a Canadian should be able to as well? (not to sound prejudice!)

Thanks

Mike, most of them are married to US citizens and either have permanent Residency or dual citizens. It's hard to just pick up and move, just like it would be for an American to move in to Canada.

Yea must be. Just a shame that its so difficult to do. Hotel Management gives me the opportunity for specific more "easy" visa's to obtain from Canada. But I think if I wanted it I should throw my hat into the green card ring and prey

Try that , if you can get a company to sponsor you that is great , my wife and I are Canadian Citizens by descent, we have Canadian fathers and we hold dual Us and Canadian citizenship. Our daughter is American only and we have to sponsor her on our move to Canada.
