I have been seeing these billboards around town. Has anyone tried it? I think you pay once for a digital antenna and installation for the 30 local channels in the area. I tried a small antenna and got nothing. Maybe this would be a better deal?

And if you folks remember, I said this would be a good idea for a business a couple years ago!

I remember you mentioning it. If you do try it, let me know how it goes. I might use it too.

A local over at the AVS forum posted that they did a good job installing a dual antenna setup. One antenna points towards Black MT while the other point towards MT Potosi and the cost was $110 for a condo install.

HMMMM. Thanks! Did that include the antennas? Or was that just labor?

I was thinking about an attic install because we have so much high wind here. I would love to be able to at least watch the local news.

Try antennaweb.org. Enter your address and it will tell you how to orient your antennas and what type of antenna you should use for your area. That's basically what he's doing and charging you for.

Just go to RadioShack and grab an amplified antenna. I got a $45 indoor antenna and get all the local channels pretty good from the Southwest.

Could an indoor antenna work for me if I'm in the middle of a condo complex without a straight shot to the exterior?

I plan to call Karlo when I get back to the states to install an antenna at my home in the far northwest -- I'll be sure to report back with my experience. I'd like to call him first and see what his antenna of choice is, and see if he'll let me bring my own antenna, because I'm sure he'll mark his price up if you buy it from him rather than online.

In the meantime, here are a couple of hopefully useful links:

This is most popular free-to-air antenna in the world - the ChannelMaster:
Channel Master

And here's one of the new popular ones that you can install in your attic!
ClearStream

There's a more powerful version of the attic one (from the same company), but it costs more

I've been a "cordcutter" (the new term for people who have cut the "cord" of the abusive cable/satellite monopolies) for 4 years now and have never looked back.
