Has anyone seen this show at Caesars? I bought some upcoming tickets because I heard how great it was, but after reading some reviews am having second thoughts. It might be a little too raunchy for my guests.

Is it about some gay guy that doesn't show up at school?

I saw it and thought it was the most entertaining show in Vegas. Penny Pibbets is a treasure for Vegas. She'll be a local celebrity like Wayne Newton, Carrot Top or Holly Madison, mark my words.

Absinthe is "Cirque" for people who don't like the pretentiousness of Cirque. That said, I wouldn't take my mother-in-law... or bring anybody who is easily offended by language. It definitely pushes the limits and that's what I love about it. It's not "safe" or watered down like everything else in Vegas.

Thanks Logline,

Appreciate your views. About the only thing I can't stomach are when some of these comics start telling jokes about God. That's the one thing that should be off limits, so hopefully we won't hear that when we attend the show.

If you're really that conservative, it may not be the show for you. These are not "your people" so to speak. The jokes are often ad-libbed and nothing is off limits. No two shows are exactly the same. There is a fair amount of "audience participation" so be prepared for anything. Like I said, it's pretty edgy.

Yeah, all the Cirque shows have the same sense of self-importance, high-art, hoity-toity feel. Big budget and weirdness for the sake of being weird with no real storyline connecting the acts.

Absinthe is gritty and unrefined. More organic and less rehearsed... or at least it feels that way.
