Do any of you work for, or know someone who works for a bulk fuel supplier here in the valley?

I am wanting to buy ethanol (e85 through e100) in 55gal drums for an off road race car. I would like to buy 2 or 3 barrels at a time.

The only station that sells e85 here in the valley is Rebel. Not only is the price not coming down with the price of gasoline (only about $.20 difference now), but I don't want to pay road tax on an off road vehicle. Granted, I have not contacted the Rebel warehouse yet, but I thought I would try here first.

I don't know of any first hand as I only moved here a few months ago, but getting bulk drums of just about any fuel including race fuels should not really be an issue. I purchased them many times before in Southern California from VIP and 76

if you haven't purchased them before, the supplier will probably want to see that you have an adequate storage facility though... basically a shed or barn away from other buildings.

PS: from a very quick search, I think rebel will be your best bet... I can not find anything else save for special orders from certain performance shops

I also think Rebel will be my best shot with this. I've contacted a few performance shops, and they want astronomical prices for ethanol. Like $7-8 a GALLON!!! Its $3.21 at Rebel. Why the hell would I pay MORE for a fuel I can get just down the street. I'm trying to save money on bulk fuel, not pay more for your designer junk

Oh..and... Storing 100 gallons shouldn't require any kind of special containment. I can legally carry it on the highway with a hazmat endorsement.

your more than likely correct about storage.

in cali though, they won't deliver the fuel unless they can see you have a building or structure(shed) set away from other buildings... you can buy it, but they just wont unload it off the truck. if you go pick it up yourself, this should not even be a concern.
