Spectrum Village
60 North Pecos Road, Las Vegas, NV 89101

I'm heading to LV and am currently renting an apartment from Simply Better here in CO.
Talking with the leasing agents, I found that I can transfer my lease to this other property there with little hassle or deposit.

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this place.

I also can't quite get a feel on the map as to how far it is from the strip or how flat it is between...I prefer to bike to work when possible, but <10 miles each way if possible....I'm pretty sure it's about 8 miles though.

Thanks for any help!

That's not a good choice. There are much better area's closer to the Strip. Look towards Spring Valley, its close to the Strip, with much more decent and safer apts.

Thanks for answering...I lost this thread and just found it again, I thought maybe it didn't post.

How bad are those apartments?

I'm trying to stay with current management company if I can...

it's more the area then those apartments.....pedaling a bike in a bulletproof jacket is tough.

Default Bullets?

It's really that bad in between?

Or is it just the perimeter around the strip that's bad in general?

I'm going to be there Friday...December 2nd, so I'll be able to check it out a bit.

The complex itself is likely fine. However the surround is difficult and it gets worse as you approach the strip. It is relatively flat.

I would not ride a bike through that area after dark and I would be careful in daylight.

Sure do. Some at the high of the day. Bicyclists are tough. It is actually reasonably pleasant early in the day. You can sweat the heat right out and still stay dry.

Default Biking in summer

I used to ride my bike 7.5miles to the base in Yuma AZ, when I was stationed there. Heck we'd do 7.5 mile Battalion runs mid-day in the summer...well, that was until an Officer keeled over on one, then we did 0430 runs...

I'm not a typical bicyclist though....I just use it to keep my weight down...I hate running.
